Mon 9th Jul - Farnborough 2012

Farnborough International Ltd's Farnborough 2012 :: Farnborough

Monday July 9 through Sunday July 15, 2012

This year's Farnborough International Airshow is slightly earlier than normal as the second half of July and the first half of August are taken up with the London Olympics 2012.  Even so there are severe airspace limitations in the London area and the show organisers have had to gain special dispensation to hold the airshow just prior to and close to the Olympics.

Following on from the success of the Unmanned Systems Showcase in 2010, Farnborough International is providing  the same dedicated platform for the promotion of Unmanned Systems to over 120,000 trade visitors.  This year the Unmanned Systems Showcase is designed to be accessible to even the smallest Unmanned Systems company, and benefits from specially-priced exhibitor packages that offer more for less.

The demonstration zone provides opportunities for Unmanned Ground Vehicles as well as Unmanned Aerial Systems within a specially-designed and enlarged demonstration area.  The Showcase features:

  • UAS/UGV demonstration area
  • Unmanned Advice Clinic
  • A range of shell-scheme exhibiting opportunities
  • Static display opportunities
  • Daily micro-UAS flying displays
  • Daily UGV demonstrations

The inaugural Showcase proved to be a huge success amongst the trade, media and public visitors, and drew crowds of spectators as a result of the indoor flying demonstrations. Ministers from various countries including the UK and the USA visited the stand, and it also formed part of the Military Delegations programme (which in 2010 contained 70 different delegations from 44 countries).

David Cooper, from Air 2 Air said “It was the best indoor UAV arena we have ever seen in the UK or internationally”

Introductory rates and inclusive packages are on offer for exhibitors within the Showcase, which will be located in the heart of one of the busy exhibition halls at FIA 2012.
